ULN works with an array of partners from the public (government) and private sector (civil society and business enterprises) who share a common vision and are committed to sustainable management of natural resources. The key government ministries (and their respective agencies) include those responsible for Lands and Urban Development, Agriculture Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF), Ministry of Water and Environment (MWE), and Ministry of Local Government (MoLG). Key government agencies working with ULN include Sawlog Production Grant Scheme, National Forestry Authority (NFA), National Agricultural Research Organization (NARO), National Agricultural Advisory Services (NAADS), Kampala City Council Authority (KCCA) and several district local government authorities.

In addition, ULN is in partnership with a cross-section of institutions at international, regional and national level. These include Landcare International, ICRAF, United Nations Convention for Combating Desertification (UNCCD), World Vision, FAO, Beyond Subsistence, Sasakawa Global 2000, International Tree Foundation, Australia Landcare International and Innovations Hotel Mukono.

ULN, as an apex body, networks with a number of organisations involved in landcare, conservation and environment protection. The main ones are: Masaka District Landcare Chapter (MADLACC) , Kabale Agro-forestry Network (KAN), Kapchorwa District Landcare Chapter      ( KADLACC), Ntungamo Agroforestry Network ( NAN) Wakiso Agroforestry Network (WAN).
